Premium devices call for premium accessories but such accessories need not be complicated or sophisticated. Sometimes, even just two small blocks of wood can turn into a simple, completely functional, and exquisitely beautiful iPad stands. This is exactly the kind of product being promised in the COBURNS iPad stands that is now rocking on Kickstarter.
The COBURNS stand is minimalism at its best. After all, it’s just really two pices of wood held together by a magnet. But minimalism doesn’t make it any less special or good-looking. Those who have issues with cutting down trees for certain types of luxury items might want to stop reading here or skip on ahead. The COBURNS are made of exotic hardwood, with the lighter version made from a rare and expensive Bird’s eye Maple. The darker variant, on the other hand, is made from Pau Ferro hardwood imported from South America. You might want to keep that in mind when looking at the lowest reward tier in the campaign.
Even the magnets that hold together the two pieces of hardwood are special. After all, who would even think about putting magnets anywhere an electronic device. But while the magnets are strong enough to keep the pieces together when unused, they’re also safe enough to use with an iPad. Scrubbing the magnet over the screen doesn’t even produce artifacts. It even looks fun to play with.
When put together, the COBURNS has a conspicuous rectangular hole at the top. These become the slots that fit the edges of the iPad. Unlike other stands available, the free-form style of the COBURNS lets you adjust the angle of the tablet as you please. And being made of wood, there is no risk of scratching the iPad in use or in storage. Provided, of course, no hard particles get in between the device and the edges of the wood.
