Display, Dimensions & Weight

Ascend G510, the latest Smartphone from Huawei has a sturdy plastic body and a textured back that gives a good grip. The phone with 134 x 67 x 9.9mm dimension snugly fits in the palm and feels good to hold. It’s also quite comfortable to carry the 9 mm thin phone with a weight of 150 grams.  The device features a 4.5-inch TFT LCD and offers a 854 x 480 pixel resolution. Though the pixel density is lowest in the Smartphone market today, the display is quite bright and sharp, and the large screen gives a fabulous entertainment experience. The device comes in black and white color and has a glossy finish at the rear.

Processor and Performance

The Ascend G510 is powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core processor and is supported by 512MB of RAM. It has 4GB of internal storage but comes with MicroSD cards for memory expansion up to 32 GB. It runs on Android 4.1 Jellybean and comes with Huawei’s Emotion UI that allows you to manage your apps from the home screen. The user interface also comes with other customization options such as to change the icon style, wallpaper, etc.

Camera

The device sports a decent 5 mega pixel camera with LED flash at the rear that captures reasonably clear pictures at night or in low light conditions. The camera comes with auto focus and geo-tagging. It has a 0.3 mega pixel camera at the front. So, when it comes to video recording, the Ascend 510 can only shoot VGA quality videos.

Battery

The Huawei Ascend G510 packs a 1750mAh Li-Ion battery that will run through the day. The battery backup will likely offer 6 hours of talk time and around 320 hours of standby time. This is good enough for a Smartphone at the lower end of the segment.
